FAQ

  • What can I write about?
    • Anything, within reason. The site is for writers, it’s run by a writer. It’s for creatives and people with bold opinions, run by a creative with bold opinions.
    • The only thing I don’t want to see on here is NSFW stuff. This is not the place for boobs; it’s for stories.
    • However, if you have an adult-oriented Startup that you want to get a bit of clout for, that’s actually fine. But be respectful about it.
    • Sharing your political views is totally fine too, but remember; not everybody thinks like you. You don’t have to be a jerk about it, right?
  • Will you promote my stuff for me?
    • No. I might promote my own articles from VOICES on social media, or if I see an article on here I like, but that’s your responsibility.
    • I charge for content marketing and distribution services. I charge for copywriting. This is not a way to get ‘free Kira help’, this is a place for your work, hosted by me, for free.
    • If you want to make a newsletter out of your work on here, hit me up. I can hook you up with an RSS link.
  • Can I promote my Startup / Link to my articles?
    • Yes. You are 100% allowed to do this. There’s a feature when you set up a ‘new post’ where you can do a 301 redirect.
    • 301 redirects divert to a different link. You are totally fine to do this, I have no problem with it, but I check all posts. So…if you’re dragging traffic somewhere gross / shady, I will delete it and ban you.
    • You can also write about your Startup. Just don’t make it salesy, please. Write about your journey! Why you made your Startup! Make it personal, make it meaningful, make it memorable!
    • You can totally put a CTA in your articles, or a form to get email signups for just you. I don’t care.
  • Can I post images?
    • Totally, but it depends on what they are. Remember, this is for writing, so if you just want to show some art you made or a design you created, you should probably be writing about it too.
    • If you’re using graphics or imagery or photos from somewhere else, and it’s not creative commons / doesn’t have an open ‘use anywhere’ type of attribution, you must include attribution.
    • No naked stuff, please.
  • Help! I don’t see a Category for my Topic?
    • You can definitely make your own categories, but for now I’d like us to stick to these topics. If you want to make one about blockchain, fine, go for it.
    • Let’s try to work within these confines for now. I want to keep it simple.
    • If you can’t find anything, and don’t think there’s enough to make a new category for, put it under #Uncategorized
